The notices do not differentiate by category of the recipient, they don't specify that disabled or chronically people are exempt from upcoming interruptions. The announcements speak of all SNAP recipients. Uh, some references do not uh do note that certain policy changes would treat non-disabled adults differently from those with disabilities, for example. So, in conclusion, uh, if Congress does not restore funding or the USDA does not reverse its decision to use contingency funds by November 1st, then yes, disabled and chronically ill snap recipients are at risk of uh having their November benefits not issued. They are automatically uh they are not automatically exempt from the effects of the shutdown. However, there may be differences in how states respond. Some states may try to use their own funds or have special exemptions, so you all want to check with your particular state's SNAP uh office. So this is what they're saying you should do. So basically, bottom line, um Aurora, they're saying technically every everybody's benefits are at risk, but they're saying that you need to check with your individual state because some of the individual states are paying for their benefits themselves. So you need to check with your state, uh, whatever state you live in. But this is what it's saying, what you should do. Contact your state SNAP office or local human services, uh, social services to ask. Will my November benefit be issued? Are there state level backup funds for people with disabilities, medical conditions? Uh, what's the latest on state guidance if the federal funding remains suspended? These are questions you want to ask your local state SNAP office. Uh prepare for the possibility of a gap. Check for local food pantries, uh, disability focused assistant programs, community. Resources, et cetera. Keep an eye on the news. If Congress reaches a deal, the shutdown could end and funding will be restored. This could reverse or mitigate the hawks. Members of Congress wrote to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Friday asking him to provide a briefing for October 31st relating to the gambling scandal that engulfed the league earlier this week. Sent by a bipartisan group of six representatives. This is from CNN Sports. Uh House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the letter calls on Silver to further explain the NBA's relationship with sports betting to assist the committee in its oversight. The committee's intervention came the day after Portland Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Bills and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier were picked up, along with Damon Jones, were named among 34 people indicted in connection with two separate federal gambling investigations announced by the Eastern District of New York. It also asked Silver the letter, the letter lists five points for Silver to address, asking him to explain further details about the alleged betting practices in connection with MBA, players, coaches, and officials, as well as the actions of the league to intends to it intends to take to limit inside information being used for illegal purposes. So they're gonna have to get in front of Congress. Exactly. That's my whole point of bringing this up, Tabitha. Records show he transferred his Cypress home located in the Houston area to his mother's name on September 23rd. Fisher believes toxicology reports will be crucial in determining what happened to Celeste. They are probably relying on toxicology to better understand what happened, which means it could be an accidental overdose with a really bad decision made afterwards. The investigation took another strange turn when deputies were called to David's parents, Houston area home on September 17th for what turned out to be a fake swatting call. A caller claimed there was a shooting with a dead female victim, but the alarm was clear and no incident report was filed. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, investigators say her body had most likely been in the car for several weeks before being discovered. The cause of Hernandez's death remains undetermined. Lab tests and toxicology reports are expected to provide answers about how she died. Until then, it remains a death investigation and not a homicide investigation. It's an ongoing investigation, and we have a lot of resources dedicated to bringing it to a conclusion. But to go beyond what has already been made public would be inappropriate. As far as the LAPD still saying no suspects have been named in the case and no arrests have been made. Something just don't seem right. They found video recordings and clips of David with this minor. They got friends and associates of David who say that they don't know.
