In countries such as Britain, leaders are more vulnerable to uh to cause to resign from political opponents or even members of their own party, Painter noted. Ultimately, the parliament calls the shots, and then the members of the legislature are vulnerable to be voted down in the next election. There's more accountability to the public. And it says here Trump is somewhat insulated from political pressure. President Trump was a longtime friend of Epstein's and appears frequently in the release documents. Trump and the White House have both consistently denied any wrongdoing. Still, because he is in his second term and is constitutionally prohibited from running for re-election, he is shielded from some accountability. Lutnick, Trump's billionaire commerce secretary, previously said he had very limited interactions with Epstein. But this week at a Senate hearing, he acknowledged that he and his family traveled to Epstein's private island in 2012. Y'all let me take a break. Whatever word you want to use. Can you imagine? And I don't even want to imagine, but just imagine how deep this rabbit hole goes. To think of like so many women and children that were victims in that situation, and then to have someone, a big name like Wexner, to have them tied to that, that makes me really uncomfortable. The concerns do not stop with students. Nurses and healthcare workers are also calling on university leaders to remove Wexner's name from campus facilities. We're using our platform to fight for what's right and to fight for accountability, said Rick Lucas, a nurse at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and president of the Ohio Nurses Association. Lucas sent the letter to OSU President Ted Carter and the Board of Trustees on February 17th on behalf of several healthcare unions. It demands that they remove Wexner's name from all campus facilities. We have moral, ethical, and legal obligations as mandated reporters said Lucas. Those are driving us to take this hardline stance that the hospital needs to drop the Wexler name. Wexner and Limited Brands Foundation donated, raised, or pledged nearly$200 million total to Ohio State before February 17, 2011. According to the university, a hundred million dollar commitment in February of 2011 mainly went toward the Ohio State University Medical Center and the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. A university spokesperson said there is a naming review procedure. The spokesperson added that there are pending requests related to Wexner's name, to each request receives full consideration. Protecting vulnerable people is not optional even when it's uncomfortable, even when the people that you're trying to hold accountable are rich and powerful, Lucas said. If the university does not remove Wexner's name by February 22nd, the union will be holding an informal picket, according to Lucas.
